Welcome to the third season of our Pastured Poultry CSA

What is a CSA? A CSA is a Community Supported Agriculture program. The basic idea is that a customer pays for their product up front with the understanding that the farmer will provide regularly scheduled installments of their goods. CSA programs are popular because they provide a partnership opportunity in which both sides win; the farmer gets startup capital for the season and (in our case) the customer gets more bang for their buck (bang for their cluck?)!

This is what our Chicken & Eggs CSA looks like: we have spread our 2019 production season over 6 months (May-Oct). On the 3rd Saturday of each month, we will host an on-farm Market Day during which our CSA members can come to pick up an installment of their CSA quantity. (An 18-chicken CSA member would receive 3 whole chickens per month, for example). We will select the chickens for CSA members in such a way that you are receiving greater value than you would simply by purchasing outright. The more you buy, the greater the savings!

NEW for the 2019 season: Just the Eggs CSA! Our biggest request each year is that we start an egg CSA. Turns out we're not the only ones obsessed with those nuggets of goodness! Our egg CSA program is broken up into 12 or 24 week buy-ins, and you can join at any time! A "24 Weeks X2" CSA member would receive 2 dozen eggs for 24 weeks (roughly six months) and a "12 Week X1" CSA member would receive 1 dozen eggs per week for about three months.

Getting your goods: All CSA members can pick up their chickens and/or eggs at our monthly on-farm market, which will be the 3rd Saturday of each month (different than last year, which was a Sunday rotation). For those in the weekly egg CSA, we will be working out a few Amazon-locker style pickup points that are local to the farm. We do offer free delivery to Jordan on the James, James Crest, Beechwood Manor, Eagle Preserve, and Fountain Ridge.

After you sign up, you will receive an email invoice. Your spot in the CSA Membership is not guaranteed until the invoice is paid. In the event that your total amount due is over $225, you may split the payment into two installments. Half will be due to hold your spot, and the other half will be due at our May market. If you do not fulfill your payment, the half-amount that you've already paid will be credited to you, but without the CSA discounts in place. Make a note when you place your order if you'd like to pay in installments.

Custom CSAs are available, so feel free to ask for a personalized membership.
