There are lots of "ideals" involved in getting a batch of day-old chicks shipped your way. Nighttime lows above 45F, dry weather, efficient postal service.... To be in an area still dealing quite heavily with the after-effects of one of the bigger winter storms in decades is NOT on that list, you guys. But hey! We received 26 chirping, thriving chicks this week and placed them in their new brooder house. A brooder house, mind you, that was still surrounded by inches of snow.
John and I went in today to see my dad, who got us all set up with the paperwork to become an official LLC. We can't wait to start taking orders for the 2016 growing season under our new name-- Peterson Family Farm! We've still got a lot of work to do, but we're really excited to have tipped the first domino in this process. Excuse the cheesey cheese grins on the right. This is kind of a big deal. #foundation #business
